Majestic Creek Country Club Description:Fantastic layout in the hills west of Hua Hin)
Majestic Creek Country Club is regarded as a challenging course that was once rated by a European Golf magazine as Hua Hin’s best golf course. Many people who have played the course share the same view. Designed by Dr. Sukkitti Klangvisai, a very experienced Thai golf course designer who is also designed Phuket's Loch Palm, Majestic Creek can be regarded the one best laid out golf courses in Hua Hin. Major renovations covering all 27-holes were undertaken in the early part of this decade, to include re-turfing of the Greens using Tifeagle grass.
Majestic Creek is set in the foothills due west of Hua Hin. The journey towards the course offers pleasant rural views of traditional Thai life including sugar cane, tapioca, pineapple plantations and local farms, many a time you will see the lorries loaded high with Sugar Cane. Majestic Creek offers surrounding natural beauty. The Valleys in the nearby mountains supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the course designers have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards; which makes for some tricky club choses for shots over the water.
The 7,123-yard layout provides a range of different and well-designed challenges for all players. Low handicappers will notice and appreciate the challenging tee shots as many involve long water carries over lakes. Nearly all the holes have some sort of water hazard (small ponds or streams) as well as excellent bunker locations. For a good score, precise course management and good nerves are required. An added advantage is the palm tree-lined fairways are firm which gives for significant roll on your ball with a well-struck tee shot.
A notable hole is the final hole on Course B hole; a long 588 yard par-5 that requires a long and accurate tee shot to find the ideal fairway location. A stream and a lake crossing the fairway come before you get a chance to take your putter out of the bag. Then negation of the narrow green that slopes steeply from back to the front is required to complete your round. The C course with its great layout, should also not be overlooked, with the mountains which back onto the Pranburi Dam. The fantastic waterfall on the signature par-3 5th hole is always a huge conversation point, and great photo opportunity. The last noteworthy hole is on Course B par-4 6th. From the tee, a gentle fade is required to a slightly slopping fairway from left to right allow perfect ball position for your second shot. Try not to cut the dogleg, as there is no reward for this shot. Turn the corner and enjoy one of the best-looking views and second shots at Majestic Creek. Finding the correct position on the three-tiered green offers an excellent chance for birdie. Poorly struck approach shots can swept into bunkers both right and left of the green.
The clubhouse at Majestic Creek offers a full range of rental equipment, locker rooms for both Men and Women, well-stocked pro shop, and golfer's café, offering both food and beverages. There are two putting greens, one chipping area, and a grass driving range.
